Tax season is OVER!!!!!!!  What will you do with your return?  Or more important how can people use their tax return on YOUR service or business?  Tax return money is the perfect opportunity to put a down payment on a new home, remodel a room in your existing home, indulge in a unique gift or YOUR product or service?!!!!!!  Talk to your CPA or accountant....how can your web site's visitors write off the purchase of your product or service next year?! :)  Be sure to contact info@CalCoastWebDesign.co to discuss adding a feature with this information, with this unique CONTENT that the search engines will LOVE too!

In today's technology savvy world, consumers often form a first impression of a company through its Web site. You can help ensure that visitors to your site become customers of your business by offering them information that captures their attention and meets their needs.  Content on your site should reflect your level of professionalism and should offer your potential customers an insight into what makes you unique.

But what good is a great Web site if no one can find it?  Site content is a major requirement for search engines.  The more times a keyword appears (without stuffing or spamming of course), the better the chances that your site will be returned near the top of the search results.  Creating content that appeals to both search engines and customers can really help drive visitors to your site as well as keep them interested in your company once they get there.

SEO Recipe Of The Month

Content Casserole

1 package Research-a-Roni

1 tsp Keyword Seeds

Pinch of Personality

1 tsp Jargon Jelly

1 cup Quality Crumb topping

News, facts, reports, and ANY other relevant information

Directions:

***Prepare research-a-roni according to Web site objectives.  What is it that your consumers are looing for?  What UNIQUE valuable inomtion can you provide them?

Make your site useful.

***Mix in the pinch of personality.  Your visitors can certainly tell if the content is sincere.  Make them feel like they WANT to choose you because they feel like they know them.  Who wouldt like to work with someone wam and compassionate?

***Combine jargon jelly.  Let your visitors know that you specialize in your service or product.  Poor grammer can make a site owner seem uneduacated or difficult to work with.   Image is all they kno of your company.

***Toss in other relevant information in a large contents pot.   Search engines REALLY like content.  They were originally designed to be research tools to find information...text information that is.  Your pictures and movies may look pretty but the search engines can't even see or read them.  They looooove text, otherwise knows as CONTENT!

***Stir until the mixture is well combined.  Pour contents mixture into Web site template and top with quality crumb topping.

***Bake in search engines and sprinkle with keyword seeds before serving.  Keywords tell the search engine what yur site is about.  Suppose that someone searched for your main keyword and the search engine finds your site and another site.  If one site has a single or couple pages in which the term appears and the other site has dozens of pages.  Which do you think the search engine is going to think is more relevant and index higher? The one with many of course!

Website content not only informs and entertains visitors, but also elevates your company's reputation in the mind of the customer.  Sites that are well designed and provide well-written and detailed information tell consumers that your company is an expert in your industry and is a reliable partner to do business with

Where can I find some good content ideas?

  4. 4)      Buy content from sites related to your industry.
  5. 5)      Use press releases since they are often copyright free.
  6. 6)      Develop a FAQs section.
  7. 7)      Ask clients for testimonials.
  8. 8)      Add a tip of the month section.
  9. 9)      Find articles relating to your industry and link to them.

Keeping it Legal

Research is a wonderful thing, and information you discover while visiting other Web sites is usually fair game.  But since Web site copy is often covered under copyright laws, using another site's content word-for-word is almost always illegal.  It may seem like an innocent copy and paste, but rest assured that copyright infringement can cost you heavily.

If you come across interesting data that you want to reproduce on your site, try rewriting it in your own words before you post it.  You may even want to link directly to the information once you receive approval from the author.  It is always better to be safe than sorry, so be sure to double check that you have not plagiarized any information.  See more on Content and Copyright by Cal Coast partner, Marketing Expert and author, Bill Koelzer by clicking on one of the links below:
